About Us

The concept is simple, picture a ski resort, remove the snow and replace the pistes with an array of sweeping flowy bike trails meandering to the bottom of the mountain, and you are close. Add a bunch of adrenalin and a big sprinkle of fun, and you are pretty much there. BikePark Wales is an exhilarating way to spend your day in the Welsh mountains.

The Story

Rowan Sorrell and Martin Astley had been travelling the world riding and racing their bikes for over a decade, each place they visited would have it's own unique take on mountain biking and each destination visited would leave an indelible mark on their minds and souls.

For Rowan and Martin, like so many other riders, mountain biking was, and still is, a way of life rather than just a hobby. In 2009 Martin and Rowan came together with a shared vision to combine all the learnings from their travels and build their dream in the valleys of South Wales. A mountain bike park like no other in the world at the time, a culmination of everything great they had enjoyed across the globe. They couldn’t do it alone though. Their then girlfriends (now wives!) Liz and Anna joined the team right at the beginning of the journey and together, with the help of an incredible network of people they turned their dream into reality and BikePark Wales was born. We welcomed our first riders on August 24th 2013.

Just top quality every time we come. See you next year??

Our Mission

We strive to deliver a World class mountain bike experience to every visiting rider. We aim to spread the joy and positivity that mountain biking can bring far and wide by making the sport accessible to as many people as possible.

BikePark Wales is, and should always be a bucket list mountain bike destination.

Our Vision

What we Strive For

BikePark Wales is a never-ending story; our vision is to create a bike park that will not, and should not, ever be finished. Our bike park is a constantly evolving destination designed to create an exciting and welcoming experience for riders of all skill levels and backgrounds. Every time a rider visits, they should see improvements as we constantly refine our craft. Masses of choice, world-class trails, and excellence in every area, from café to coaching, trails to workshop, should make every touch point a constantly improving experience for visiting riders.

Equality

A More Diverse Sport
We want to make the mountain biking community more diverse. Mountain biking is traditionally not the most accessible or diverse sport and we will play our part in addressing that. Whether it be improving the gender balance, improving access for riders with disabilities, or working with local schools to make mountain biking a more affordable activity we aim to make BikePark Wales a home for all.
